About Tara Thelen

Tara Thelen is an American/Dutch artist who divides her time living and working in her native Michigan and in Bergen, The Netherlands, about 40 miles from Amsterdam.

Her career as an artist is multi-faceted. She exhibits her artwork at galleries and museums throughout Europe and the US and teaches art lessons to children, teens, and adults, through Museum Kranenburgh in Bergen, the Lansing Art Gallery in Michigan, and through private workshops and courses as well. She also works as a commercial artist, creating artwork and illustrations for book and CD covers and interiors, and creating pattern designs for clothing.

Whether creating pieces of art for exhibition or commercial projects, Tara’s ambition as an artist is to create art that elicits strong, positive emotions – art that leaves an impression and truly touches those who view it.
